MEET OUR MAKERS: Make ‘n Take by dauth hobbies
We welcome the return of Dauth Hobbies of San Anselmo, with their popular Make ‘n Take booth: build your Model kit Car or Plane. This activity is designed to introduce new modelers to the hobby of model making (or to recapture older modelers by rekindling a past interest). Modelers at the event will be assisted by IPMS (International Plastic Modelers Society) modelers.
MEET OUR mAKERS: rOBOtAR
Returning to Greenbrae Mini Maker Faire this year is RoboTar, a robotic chord assistant that helps anyone play guitar.
Inspired by the maker’s father, who lost the ability to play guitar after surviving a stroke, it attaches to the neck of a standard guitar and the player uses an app to choose a song they want to play or builds a new or original song themselves. Then the player cycles through each chord of the song leveraging a single foot pedal or push button option to move to each chord at their own tempo while strumming along with one hand…both right and left handed versions are available. Booth visitors are welcomed to try RoboTar!

Meet Our Makers: Bay Area Ghostbusters
Greenbrae Mini Maker Faire is delighted to introduce Bay Area Ghostbusters as one of our Makers!
They are a non-profit fan group that uses their love of the film “Ghostbusters” to promote local events and activities throughout Northern California. Each member of the group constructs the majority of the equipment they wear, using several different methods.
From completely scratch-built wooden props, to the lighter fiberglass shells, each prop is carefully constructed to resemble the props used in “Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters 2”.
The team will be in full costume, and will be demonstrating equipment construction methods.
Also joining them is their vehicle, the “Ecto”, which has been modified and outfitted with various props recreated from pictures form the original film.
Today is the first-ever National Day of Making!
June 18 is the first National Day of Making, and the White House hosts a Maker Faire.
Join with other Makers to take the Maker Pledge and support your local Maker community!

Meet our Makers: The Viper
The Viper is a Battlestar Galactica themed flight simulator capable of 360 rotation on two axes. It consists of a fuselage from a Piper Cherokee, a custom motion platform, and over 10 different computers that are networked together to create an immersive flight experience.
It was built by 5 Marin high school students over 8 months with the help of a few adult mentors. http://the-viper.org
Meet our Makers: S’Nova Kayfetz’ Hovercraft
Two battery powered handdrill-size blowers lift the hovercraft and S’Nova 3 inches off the ground on a cushion of air enclosed in plastic. A fan connected moves the 42 inch diameter hovercraft at walking speed as S’Nova sits on a seat operating the steering wheel.
S’Nova gradually designed and improved a series of hovercrafts starting with a disk he stood on holding a leaf blower with lift, but no movement nor steering. He enjoys art, soccer, speaking Mandarin and attending Fe Tian Academy as an 11 year-old 6th grade student.
Every quarter hour during the fair S’Nova will demonstrate his hovercraft and discuss it with anyone interested.
Our makers are confirmed and we will introduce them soon.
You’ll see robots, a Viper flight simulator, a hovercraft, upcycling projects, 3D printing, games, creative activities and Marin’s innovators and Makers with a range of incredible projects.
